On June 10, 2025, I lost my wife, Miriam Vassallo Nodar. That day split my life in two—the years I was blessed to walk beside her, and the years I must now learn to navigate without her physical presence. But this book is not my goodbye to Miriam. It is my way of continuing our conversation.

I have not written a monument to grief. Instead, I have opened a doorway into the life we shared—a marriage shaped by laughter, resilience, tenderness, and hard-won hope. Miriam was sharp-witted, warm, and beautifully alive. I still see her raised eyebrow when I took myself too seriously. I still hear her calming sigh when I grew restless. And her laughter—how it filled a room and somehow still lingers in the quiet corners of our home.

These pages hold the whispers she left behind: her remembered words on my morning walks, her playful teasing, the steady courage that carried us through every storm, including cancer. What began as an effort to preserve fragile memories became something deeper. I discovered that love does not disappear. It changes form. It settles into habits, into rituals, into the simple act of writing her name.

This book is honest about sorrow, yet it is also filled with humour and light—because that is who we were.
